Red Mite control from SPR Centre now in a handy, ready-to-use trigger spray. Poultry Shield RTU is a multi-
purpose cleaner, sanitiser and odour neutralizer, effective against bacteria, viruses, fungus, mould, algae and
biofilms. It works equally well with hard or soft water, is unaffected by temperature fluctuation and has a long
storage life. Poultry Shield RTU contains NO poison and can be safely used in organic production. It is fully
bio-degradable and environmentally friendly. To use, simply spray the poultry house and all the equipment
liberally. Poultry Shield RTU will kill red mite and their eggs over a period of 2-3 days. The birds can then be
re-introduced back in to the house almost immediately. Once any infestation is under control, repeat the
treatment once every 6 weeks (or each time the poultry house is cleaned). Poultry Shield RTU is 100% safe,
so there is no need to withdraw eggs. *Please Note: Poultry Shield is effective only on contact with the mite

Directions for Use:
1: In the late afternoon, thoroughly clean and clear the poultry house of all litter and debris.
* Please Note: The
poultry house must be completely dry before the Ready-to-Use Poultry Shield is applied. If the poultry house is
sprayed when the walls (for example) are still wet, the Poultry Shield will be diluted again - making it virtually ineffective.
2: Just before dusk, shut out the hens before thoroughly spraying the poultry house - soaking it from top to bottom.
The birds can be allowed back in to the house immediately after spraying.
3: Repeat again within 7 days as a precaution against any missed 'hot-spots' (where the solution has been unable
to penetrate, and lice and mites are still alive).
4: Do not rely on just 'misting' the poultry house. It has to be thoroughly wetted with the solution so that the liquid
can penetrate all the cracks and crevices. This will ensure the removal of all the red mite as well as their eggs.
* If your poultry house has a slatted floor, we recommend taking the slats out in the morning and scraping off
the detritus and thoroughly spray with Poultry Shield. Spray them again before placing them back in the house.
5: In cases of severe infestation and the poultry house has a felted roof, it may be advisable to strip the felt off and
re-felt after treatment. There are other poultry houses where it might be impossible to spray poultry Shield in, or
over the apex. In such cases, the ridge piece must be unscrewed and then treated.
6: If red mites re-appear the following day. it means that there is still one or two 'hot-spots'. It is then just a matter
of figuring out where the mites still are (e.g. in the house or under the house), and re-spraying these areas to
remedy the problem.
7: Once any infestation is under control, repeat the treatment every 6 weeks, or each time the poultry house
is to be cleaned.
* Please note: Ready-to-Use poultry Shield is effective ONLY on contact with the red mite and their eggs.
