for this decomposition process. It's unique formulation clears ponds of both green water algae and also

Throughout the year ponds accumulate debris, dead plant matter, uneaten food, fish waste. If left untouched
this forms an unsightly, unhealthy layer of sludge at the bottom of the pond. Blagdon Sludge Buster's unique
blend of bacteria and enzymes break down this sludge - leaving your pond clean and healthy. The bacteria are
species that use the oxygen locked up in the sludge for their respiration, preventing a lack of oxygen in the
water for the pond fish and other water borne wildlife. Use Blagdon Sludge Buster (whether you have a filter or
not) once a fortnight to achieve and maintain low waste levels or after using effective algae control products
to consume the dead algae. Each sachet of Blagdon Sludge Buster treats up to 500 gallons of pond water, it

Vital - Barley Straw Log

Barley Straw Logs preventing algae and blanket weed in garden ponds, Since algae and blanket weed lack
roots or leaves, they require large amounts of nitrogen to live. The decomposition of Barley Straw in the pond
water uses up large quantities of Nitrogen, thus starving and killing the algae and blanket weed. Plant life with
roots and leaves continue to thrive as normal. To use, simply float the Vital Barley Straw Log on the surface of
the pond. The Vital Barley Straw Log is most effective when tied just below the surface near a source of moving
